Emma Morris – Civil Law Department
 Emma
is a Solicitor in the Civil and
Small Business Teams, and
undertakes a wide variety of work within these areas. She has
previously completed seats in the Housing, Mental Health and Family
Departments. Emma specialises in all aspects of litigation, including personal injury, contract disputes and debt recovery. She advises both individuals and businesses on the options available both in and out of Court. Clients comments on her personable nature and willingness to go the extra mile for her clients. As a member of the Small Business Team Emma works with new and established businesses in providing a complete legal service. As a member of the Law Society’s “Lawyers for your Business” scheme, Emma is committed to providing clear, honest and reliable advice to business clients. Emma also regularly advises on Police Complaints and Actions Against the Police. She represents clients both locally and nationally in pursuing complaints to police forces and the Independent Police Complaints Commission. She represents clients in bringing claims for compensation through the Courts arising from the actions of police officers. She is an active member of Police Action Lawyers Group and Human Rights Lawyers Group. Emma deals with all levels of Criminal Injuries Compensation claims, from straightforward claims to more complex abuse claims. She has prepared successful reviews and has also represented clients in appealing to the Tribunals Service. Emma studied Law at the University of Newcastle and completed the Legal Practice Course at Northumbria University. She was awarded the Resolution Family Law Prize 2007/2008 for the best performing student in the family examinations at Northumbria University, and the David Auld Mental Health Prize 2008/2009 for best performing student in the mental health examinations. |
