LEGAL AID LAWYERS OF THE YEAR 2009

Hosted by the Legal Aid Practitioners Group, Cherie Booth QC. presented David Gray Solicitors with the Legal Aid Lawyers of the Year Award for outstanding achievement in legal aid law in England and Wales.

Clare Routledge, partner, said: “To win this award is a huge accolade to the calibre of our hardworking and dedicated lawyers.  To win this award in the same year as celebrating 30 years in practice is tremendously pleasing and underlines the firm’s success, as well as our philosophy of unswerving commitment to our community. To be the first North East firm ever to win is definitely the icing on the cake.”

David Gray Solicitors are enormously committed to legal aid work.  We carry out work across a large number of legally aided categories of work.  We aspire to and reach the highest standards with our staff being of the highest calibre.
We are firmly routed in the community and provide a legal lifeline for our clients.

Over the years the firm has grown to nine partners and more than 70 staff yet we have retained our original philosophy of providing legal services to the least advantaged members of society.  We pride ourselves on giving the same quality of service under the legal aid scheme as we do to clients who pay privately.

We have adapted to challenges from the LSC and continue to supply a wide range of specialist services to the local community, with contracts in Family, Immigration, Crime, Housing, Mental Health and Actions against the Police.

One of our clients said:
“Words cannot express how much your help and belief has meant to us.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  You’ve helped give us a new start in life.”

The Legal Services Commission congratulate David Gray Solicitors
