Salaha graduated from Northumbria University in 2008 and in 2009 joined David Gray Solicitors as a Legal Assistant in their immigration department.Salaha volunteered at the Gateshead law centre family department for 6 months, Salaha then participated in the mentoring programme at the Crown Prosecution Service for 6 months and is now working in the immigration department, advising on deportation, bail, rights of access to children amongst various other immigration matters.  Salaha is multilingual and can speak Bengali as well as other languages.
