My main areas of interest are landlord and tenant matters such as drafting and negotiating leases and licences, freehold sales and purchases (including new builds), and business sales and purchases. I act in connection with both commercial and residential property, while at the same time having some experience of more specialist matters such as easements, Partnership Agreements and corporate refinancing. My diverse clients have ranged from GP practices and restaurants to property investors and first-time house buyers.
I grew up in in South Shields and graduated from Newcastle University with a First Class Joint Honours degree in Politics and History. I spent five and a half years at Samuel Phillips Law Firm in Newcastle, qualifying as a Solicitor there in 2011. During my time at Samuel Phillips I acquired considerable experience in property and commercial matters. I joined David Gray Solicitors in June 2015.
I live on the Newcastle Quayside and in my spare time am a keen musician, playing both violin and viola in my string quartets Tyne Consort and the Quayside Quartet, and in various orchestras across the region, including the South Tyneside Orchestra and the Northumberland Orchestral Society, in addition to regularly accompanying local stage societies. I also enjoy composition, and attend as many of the region’s numerous classical concerts, recitals and operas as I can. Away from music, my interests include football, running, literature and outdoor activities, the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales being among my favourite places to visit.
