I am a Solicitor specialising in family law.
My work includes all areas of family law. I have a particular interest in domestic abuse cases and disputes over the arrangements for children, such as who they should live with and what time they should spend with the parent they do not live with. I also have wealth of experience in divorce matters and their financial implications.
I am a dedicated member of the domestic abuse team which ensures that someone is available to provide clients same day advice in emergency situations.
I understand that coming to see a solicitor and talking about personal issues can be a very difficult and daunting time. I will try my very best to put you at ease and signpost you to other agencies and services who may be able to support and assist you. I will listen to you and ensure I know what you want to achieve and I am committed to providing you with realistic advice about your options and the likely outcomes for you.
I am a member of Resolution. Resolution is an organisation of family lawyers and other professionals who are committed to taking a non-confrontational approach and considering the needs of the whole family and, in particular, the best interests of the children, when resolving family law disputes.
I studied law at the University of Leeds before completing the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York. I was awarded the Legal Service Commission (now known as the Legal Aid Agency) Public Legal Services Route Prize 2005/2006 for being the best performing student in the elective examinations at York College of Law.
I began working at David Gray Solicitors LLP in October 2006 as a family law paralegal and started my training contract in September 2007. I qualified as a solicitor in September 2009 and I have worked in the family law department since then.
