Team DG tree planting

Team DG were getting their hands mucky last week when out on a volunteering morning.

They assisted The North East Community Forest (NECF) with tree planting in Consett and planted 200 trees while learning all about the importance of the initiative. The planting included larger trees as part of orchard and a copse of mixed species. The team dug holes, planted trees, firmed them up and added stakes.

NECF mission is to ‘plant trees and create new woodlands to make our region more resilient to climate change and to inspire a passion for trees and woods by engaging the people of the North East.’
