We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Crime Paralegal to join our busy Criminal Defence team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys supporting others, and is passionate about ensuring access to justice for clients facing some of the most challenging situations of their lives.
As a Crime Paralegal, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of criminal cases, providing essential support to solicitors and fee earners whilst maintaining exceptional standards of client care. This is a primarily desk based job where no two days are the same – from dealing with urgent police station matters and court documentation to liaising with clients, courts, counsel and external agencies, you will be at the heart of a dynamic and rewarding department.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting solicitors and fee earners with the management of criminal law matters
- Processing and prioritising urgent police station and court documentation
- Managing a busy departmental inbox and ensuring time-sensitive information is actioned promptly
- Preparing correspondence, client care letters and legal documentation from dictation
- Communicating professionally with clients, courts, the CPS, police stations, counsel and other agencies
- Recording and maintaining accurate file and case management records
- Taking telephone enquiries and messages, ensuring clients receive excellent service and support
- Assisting with magistrates’ and crown court case administration
- Ensuring compliance with internal procedures, SRA regulations and quality standards
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide an efficient and responsive service

Previous legal administration or criminal law experience would be advantageous, but above all we are looking for someone with the right attitude, commitment and enthusiasm.
