Mike Bishop Retirement

Mike Bishop, Head of our Mental Health team here at David Gray retires today (30 April 2020) and we wanted to say a huge Thank You!

Mike has worked at the firm for over 30 years and he will be a huge miss not just amongst colleagues and his fellow partners but throughout the hospitals he serves across the region.

Mike’s passion for advising and helping those detained under the Mental Health Act is so apparent when you meet him that it has earnt him the accolade of ‘Star Individual’ by Chambers and Partners for the last few years.

His clients love him and a recent client stated:

“I would like to give my absolute thanks and gratitude for your help with me a few weeks ago.”

This is a typical response when asked about Mike.

With large shoes to fill, Mike is succeeded by Emma Silburn who heads up the team from 1 May 2020. Emma has worked within the Mental Health Team for over 10 years and has deep and widespread knowledge of Mental Health Law within the regional landscape so business will most definitely continue as usual.

We’ll miss your smile and your stories Mike – all the very best for a long, healthy and happy retirement and travelling when it comes – don’t be a stranger!
