Paralegal (Mental Health & Court of Protection)

We are looking for an organised, compassionate and proactive Paralegal to join our Mental Health & Court of Protection team.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys providing high-quality administrative and case management support whilst delivering excellent client care. Working closely with solicitors, trainees and other paralegals, you will play a key role in helping the team support some of our most vulnerable clients.

From managing the departmental inbox, diaries and case files to liaising with hospitals, Mental Health Act Offices and other professionals, you will help ensure matters progress efficiently and clients receive the highest standard of service.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing a busy departmental inbox and ensuring time-sensitive information is actioned promptly
  • Supporting solicitors and fee earners with the management and administration of their cases
  • Processing and prioritising urgent legal documentation
  • Preparing correspondence, client care letters and legal documentation from dictation
  • Communicating professionally with clients, hospitals, the Mental Health Act Office and other third parties
  • Recording and maintaining accurate file and case management records
  • Taking telephone enquiries and messages, ensuring clients receive excellent service and support
  • Ensuring compliance with internal procedures, SRA regulations and quality standards
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide an efficient and responsive service

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone who:

  • Has a genuine interest in Mental Health and Court of Protection law
  • Demonstrates excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Has strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Provides outstanding client care with empathy and professionalism
  • Communicates confidently and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Works well as part of a supportive team
  • Is proactive, adaptable and willing to learn
  • Can remain calm under pressure when dealing with urgent matters and deadlines
  • Has strong IT and administrative skills

Previous legal experience would be advantageous, but above all we are looking for someone with the right attitude, commitment and enthusiasm.
