Sound legal advice is essential to achieving a fair outcome in mediation.
Solicitor advice
If you are working in mediation to resolve family problems, having a solicitor to advise you about your options is key to achieving a successful and fair outcome. Separated couples often have different views about what feels fair and a mediator, who must be impartial, cannot give advice about this. Our solicitors advise people who are in mediation to help them to understand the legal implications of any proposals made, whether they are fair, and to draft the necessary documents to make an agreement binding, where appropriate. We clearly understand how mediation works as a number of our solicitors are also mediators, and this gives us the advantage in supporting you through the mediation process to reach a successful outcome.
If you are eligible for Legal Aid and are already working in mediation, legal advice about the issues you are discussing in mediation is available free of charge. For more information contact our team in Newcastle and South Shields by email to louise.law@davidgray.co.uk or on 0191 232 9547.
