I am a trainee solicitor at David Gray Solicitors, currently in the property department. I recently completed a seat in the immigration team and have over 2 years of experience working in various areas of immigration law. During this time I advised clients on all areas of Personal Immigration including citizenship and nationality, EU applications, private life and family visa applications (spouse, partner and children) and visit visas.
With a keen interest in connecting families and a passion in protecting human rights, I understand that clients may find dealing with immigration issues a daunting experience. I offer friendly and accessible advice to help clients to find the best options for them and their family.
Being bilingual in Urdu and Punjabi I am able to break down language barriers for many of our clients helping them understand immigration systems and working to achieve the best outcome for them and their loved ones.
I am also an Elected Councillor for the Wingrove Ward (since 2008) and represent Newcastle City Council on a number of Management Committees including Newcastle Centre for Life and the North East Law Centre.
Before coming to work here, I worked as an anti-trafficking advocate in a Senior Support Worker Outreach role working with victims of human trafficking in the North East region for a well-established charity. I also worked at Kube Law as a Paralegal undertaking immigration work.
I graduated in 2011 with a Law Degree from the Open University. I then studied the Legal Practice Course at Northumbria University and graduated in 2014. I have recently completed the OISC Level 1 training in Immigration and am currently studying level 2.
