I am a trainee solicitor working in the immigration department. I started my training contract in September 2018 here in my home department.
I am experienced in dealing with a wide range of Personal Immigration work including Family applications, EU applications, Private Life applications and Citizenship applications. I also assist Bryony Rest with Business Immigration work and with appeals to the First-tier Immigration Tribunal, Administrative Review and Judicial Review.
I understand that negotiating your way through the visa system can seem complicated. Having worked as a paralegal in the immigration department for 2 and a half years before beginning my training contract, I am familiar with the most common pitfalls and the issues which cause most stress and uncertainty for clients hoping to bring their loved ones to the UK.
I am friendly and approachable and always work hard to build a good working relationship with my clients so that together we can achieve the best possible outcome.
Before coming to work at the firm, I worked at Freedom From Torture, arranging therapy appointments for survivors of torture. I also volunteered at a local charity providing legal advice to those who could not qualify for legal aid. I previously worked at Amnesty International, campaigning and researching on human rights issues.
I am fluent in Spanish and have a working knowledge of French.
I completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Northumbria in June 2017, passing with a Commendation. I graduated from BPP Law School with a Graduate Diploma in Law (Commendation) in 2010. I hold a First Class Honours BA in Hispanic and Slavonic Studies from Nottingham University in 1998.
